Rémy Petitimbert

Revue française de socio-Economie, 2022, vol. n° 28, issue 1, 51-69

Abstract: Among the scientific works that focus on Karl Polanyi?s concept of ?fictitious commodity,? few are devoted to land. This is the purpose of this article, which seeks to examine biodiversity offsetting through the study of Polanyi?s ?land.? This perspective facilitates the understanding of the political process of commodifying living processes through compensatory measures. It demonstrates the topicality of the author?s thinking in terms of political undertakings to commodify living entities.

Keywords: biodiversity offsetting; compensatory measures; no net loss; fictitious commodity; land (search for similar items in EconPapers)
