Concurrence sur la concurrence. La résistible économicisation des pratiques et de l’administration du contrôle des marchés à la Commission européenne (1958-2003)

Pierre Alayrac

Revue française de socio-Economie, 2023, vol. n° 31, issue 2, 69-88

Abstract: The literature on European competition policy shows a hiatus. Initially, this policy was marked by a highly legalistic approach to regulating economic struggles, before a sudden turn toward a more economic approach in the early '00s. This article aims to show a historical link between these two episodes by studying the turbulent economization trajectory of the European competition authority, and its conditions of possibility.
