Abstract:
Based on a collective empirical research, this paper aims at building a theoretical framework to clarify the concept of ?social value?. In what sense can the social economy be described as a ?non economical economy? ? Is the ?ethics of mutuality? producing a kind of ?non economical? value ? The hypothesis is made that the maussian gift paradigm and theories of care can help make visible the hidden sides of the value. We then analyse the ambivalences of this ethics and regard it as a political alternative against contemporary social business.
