La protection de la sécurité alimentaire en droit pénal chinois

Revue internationale de droit économique, 2010, vol. t. XXIV, 1, issue 1, 123-137

Abstract: In September 2008, a fresh outbreak of kidney disease occurred due to baby formula contaminated by melamine. Six children died and over 290,000 fell sick by the tainted formula. The tragedy reflects the strenuous situation of food safety in China. In order to enhance legal protection of food safety, China has promulgated the ?Food Safety Act?. Compared with the previous food hygiene law, the new ?Food Safety Act? has achieved an obvious improvement, but still has a long way to go before becoming a solid legal framework of food safety protection.
