Abstract:
The purpose of this contribution is to examine the scope of the extraterritorial character of the General Data Protection Regulation and to analyze a specific issue in this context, namely the question of how a third state should deal with this extraterritorial character. To this end, it is necessary to consider the extraterritorial, normative, and enforcement jurisdiction of states or, more specifically in this case, of supranational entities such as the European Union.
