Reflets et perspectives de la vie économique, 2003, vol. XLII, issue 1, 59-70
Abstract:
The authors discuss the reasons for which some limitation has recently been introduced in Belgium on the number of physicians allowed to start practice every year. They explain how this number is fixed and analyze the pros and cons of different procedures for selecting physicians. They argue that this limitation is only one among a number of measures aimed at reforming the health care system in Belgium.
