Abstract:
Manufacturing has faced deep mutations leading to a specialisation of activities in sectors for which comparative advantages exist and to intensive research of productivity gains. Given the entry on the world market of low wages economies, the competitiveness of the Belgian industry is more than ever linked to its innovation capability. The development of this capability is the heart of an industrial policy compatible with the onset of the European single market.
