Évolution des prix énergétiques pour les consommateurs en Belgique

Abstract: Consumer energy prices rose by 5.2% in Belgium between 2008 and 2014. After a very pronounced increase between 2008 and 2012, energy prices started to go down at the beginning of 2013. The price evolution of this product category depends partly on oil prices. Among energy products, consumer prices of fuel and heating oil increased by 9.6% and 2.5% respectively between 2008 and 2014. The price increase of electricity and gas, which is determined by the energy component, network tariffs, and various taxes, has been limited partly thanks to new government measures. The price evolution of electricity and natural gas therefore reached +2.2% and even ?1.1% respectively during the period under review. Given the share of energy products in Belgian households? budgets, the prices of these products have strongly influenced ? both upwardly and downwardly ? the total inflation profile in Belgium during recent years. Energy prices increased faster in the main neighboring countries than they did in Belgium, by 13.9% on average between 2008 and 2014.
