Opium et développement alternatif en Asie: quel bilan ?

Abstract: Despite a century of global prohibition, the world?s illicit opium production has never been as important as in the 2000s. But for a few exceptions, opium bans, forced eradication, and alternative development have failed to reach their ultimate goal : achieving supply reduction in source countries. While, on one hand, repressive measures have not evolved much during past decades and still need to prove their worth, on the other hand the economic development approach has largely improved but has also failed to suppress or even reduce illicit opium production.
