Abstract: Florence Boyer ? Urban Growth, Migratory Status and Housing Choices of Ouagadougou?s Inhabitants In African cities with an important demographic growth, it?s very difficult for the poorest to get to a suitable housing. The distinction between legal and illegal dwelling does not suffice to understand the exclusion process and the social and spatial differentiation. Dwelling situations and migratory status draw contrasts in the expansion city. According to four variables, several differences appear in the urban composition, the geographic origin of the housing tenured, the occupation status and social composition of the housing. Ouagadougou doesn?t build with a binary opposition, but in a heterogeneity of urban positions.
