La solidarité vue par l'« économie sociale et solidaire »

Abstract: Since the 1990s, we have seen a renewal of words dedicated to development. Among these words, we can single out ?solidarity?, and especially ?social economy?. This terminology is used in all academic, institutional and political speeches, not only by militant movements and left-wing intellectuals but also, paradoxically, by international financial institutions. This is surprising, insofar as words are the expression of the way in which development issues and, therefore, the priorities and policies to be carried out in the countries concerned, are defined. This article suggests taking a fresh look at the term of ?solidarity? and at the ways it is currently used in economics, in order to reveal what lies behind this term. Particular attention will be paid to the ?social economy?, a term which brings together a number of researchers who support, a theoretical and political project based on an economic alternative.
