Abstract:
The local reuse centres called ressourceries are important actors of waste reuse in France. Mostly non-profit organisations for integration through economic activity, they also contribute to the re-use of people (unemployed, etc.). However, job insecurity still prevails in this environmental sector. To fight against this precariousness, the ressourceries claim the professionalisation of reuse work. This article examines this professionalisation based on a case study, the Ateliers de la Bergerette. This association has contributed to the professionalisation of reuse work through its pioneering role in the invention of the “recyclerie” model, but also by promoting sustainable employment and self-management of work.
