Economia & lavoro, 2013, issue 1, 141-146
Abstract:
Today, as in the past, the cultural objectivesand everyday activities of the FondazioneGiacomo Brodolini are largely inspired bythe significance that Brodolini attached to theconcepts of conflict, rights and equality in thecontext of a society that still had some difficultyin acknowledging them at the time of his death.Of all the achievements, the Italian Workers'Statute remains an outstanding example. Withit, in fact, ownership no longer constituted thefundamental principle upon which relations werebased and the workplace became a social areawithin which freedom, safety, security and dignitywere guaranteed for the workers. The essentialconception that emerges sees the right to work asa means to enable the coexistence of different butnot necessarily conflicting interests.
