The Propensity of Italian Enterprises to the Occupational Welfare

Abstract:
The provision of occupational welfare (OW)measures within Italian manufacturing andservices enterprises is firstly analysed througha descriptive analysis aimed at studying thestatistical association between the introduction ofOW measures and the enterprise’s employmenttrends. A further multinomial logistic modelis aimed at verifying the role of main businesscharacteristics and strategies on the enterprise’spropensity to adopt alternative OW forms.Findings show a dualisation of the supply of OWschemes among Italian enterprises by size andarea, and greater propensity to provide multipleOW measures when the enterprise’s economicperformance and size increase, and also the proxyon the importance attributed by the enterprise tothe strengthening of collective bargaining seemsto be relevant.
