THE FOOD CRISIS AND THE POSSIBLE REPERCUSSIONS ON ROMANIA

Abstract: This paper aims at finding a correct answer to the food crisis in Romania, its ways of expression and possible repercussions on the population. A bombardment of media advertising in recent times hints of an imminent food crisis in conditions of unprecedented growth in food prices. Everyone speaks about the fact that Romania is headed with major steps towards a devastating food crisis due to the economic crisis and we will try to demonstrated this by using indicators that can measure this aspect. We refer here mainly to food prices, growth index, Romanian consumers' purchasing power and food trade.
