Abstract: Globalization has played an important role in international economic relations among nations across the world. In the era of globalization, countries have realized that economic cooperation with other nations is strategically important for the growth of the economy. The international context of trade has changed dramatically in recent years, and this trend will continue to occur. Thus, liberalization and globalization have induced a greater mobility of production factors, rapid relocation, fragmentation and a higher specialization of value chains activities of products and services. At the same time the area of trade in services was expand. The maintaining of national value becomes is increasingly difficult to realize because the proliferation of global value chains in an attempt to minimize costs and maximize profits. The International competitiveness is therefore dynamic and competitive advantages are more volatile and less sustainable.Even so, the competitiveness is fundamental to sustainable development and successful economies create and recreate continuously competitive advantages. In these circumstances, there is no doubt that the future performance of Romania's export should be based on competitive advantages, on development of the capacity and competence export sector and the creation of an economy able to develop in conditions of free trade into increasingly globalized market. Therefore, only acting in this way, Romania should be able to successfully integrate the EU internal market.
