ROMANIA TOURISM PROSPECTS AND RESULTS ACHIEVED IN RECENT YEARS IN TERMS OF EUROPEAN COMPETITIVENESS

Abstract: Romania is among the countries with the most diversified tourism products due to the natural resources it holds, the unique flora and fauna biodiversity in Europe. We can say that it is still a largely agricultural country with a generous rural area that offers attractive scenery and Opportunities for rural tourism development. Also in Romania is the third of the natural springs in Europe and 117 localities have natural therapeutic that such element as water, sewage, gas and more. Another tourist attraction, but this time the season is the Romanian coastline, stretching area of 245 km over year, from the Danube Delta in the north to the border with Bulgaria, with long stretches of beach, with tourist resorts and major ports. And last but not least, it must be Remembered cultural heritage of our country has 30 monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, Including the wooden churches of Maramures, Painted Churches of Moldavia and Dacian Fortresses drastically. To get a good profit from the tourism industry and to counter the economic crisis, Romania should successfully promote four types of tourism: rural and ecological tourism, cultural tourism, health tourism and spa tourism business respectively. This paper describing the content focuses on opportunities these forms of tourism in our country.
