Abstract: This paper is a thorough examination of the concept of financial stability by studying and exposing opinions from the relevant literature regarding the content and objectives of financial stability. I considered that such a study could be useful in an academic perspective, but also from the perspective of performers and those interested in the activities and actions of central banks. Financial stability shows us the capacity of a financial system to maintain its basic functions and adapt to disruptions threatening these functions
