Abstract: In this paper, the authors refer to the unemployment and inflation evolution in Romania. The main topics approached in the paper follow the evolutionary trend of the unemployment, the unemployment structure and evolution in territorial profile. The second part of the paper is an analysis on the inflation phenomenon that affects the economy of Romania, and the authors have chosen to apply an econometric model to describe the influence of the inflation has on the Gross Domestic Product. The relevant datasets are presented in the paper, together with appropriate discussion and analysis based on them.
