Abstract: Romania has a significant agricultural potential but underutilized and not adapted to the current requirements of the market economy. The role of the investmen process in agricultural development is obvious. This involves the use of a significant amount of resources that has to be directed towards objectives with maximum efficiency. The decision process is complex given the multiple criteria on which are based the investments. The article presents the particularities of the investment process in agriculture and proposes a model for the evaluation and ranking of investments under multi-criteria conditions based on ELECTRE method. The result shows the method opportunity that can lead to the investment efficiency increasing in agriculture.
