WAYS TO ACCELERATE THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Gabriela Piciu

Annals - Economy Series, 2021, vol. 5, 129-134

Abstract: The implementation of the circular model leads to increased competitiveness of economies, and the difference in circularity between countries provides information on the best interventions that can be made to increase it at the national level. In order to identify the way in which the implementation of the circular economy was achieved, methodologies recognized in the specialized literature are used: the standardized deviations method and the min-max normalization method. The purpose of this approach is to build a composite indicator based on the indicators issued by Eurostat in its monitoring framework. The five selected indicators are: municipal waste, municipal waste recycling rate, circular material utilization rate, innovations and the amount of material reused from a new product.
