Abstract: In the context of ensuring sustainable economic development, SDG 8 involves the promotion of a sustainable, inclusive and resilient economy based on increasing economic productivity through diversification, the application of new technologies and green economy concepts, which provide safe, decent and properly remunerated jobs, with focus on gender equality and youth inclusion. This study aims to outline a series of specific aspects, achievements and challenges for SDG 8 in the Romanian economy.
