Abstract:
The link between human resource management and organizational response to crises has become increasingly relevant in today's volatile environment. This study investigates how employees perceive the contribution of human resource practices to effective decision-making in crisis situations, particularly with regard to improving economic efficiency. Special attention is paid to generational differences in employee responses, analysing how age influences the perception of human resource measures in times of instability. The research uses a quantitative method, based on the analysis of 77 questionnaire responses collected from Romanian employees in different companies. The questions in the questionnaire were based on existing academic literature and were adapted to reflect the local organizational context. The results show that human resource management is considered a strategic pillar in both day-to-day operations and crisis situations. Employees perceive human resource practices, such as open communication, cost management, employee motivation, and support, as essential for maintaining organizational stability, adaptability, and long-term performance in the face of disruption.
