Abstract: The challenges of digitalisation are also reflected in the e-invoice system. This mechanism is helpful for both companies and state institutions. There are advantages to implementing this system, but also disadvantages. In Romania, this system was implemented about four years ago, and there are still many aspects to be addressed. We consistently emphasise the superiority of the electronic invoice system over the traditional invoice. Legislative changes can enhance this system, as duplicate invoices accepted by the Virtual Private Space could lead to greater accuracy in managing economic transactions and, consequently, payments to suppliers.
