Abstract:
The process of digitalization has significantly influenced the world in general and has offered new connotations to the economic world. The use of energy from renewable, green and clean sources shows how consumers are moving towards a sustainable lifestyle. The increase in green energy consumption reflects the trend of consumers choosing sustainable and clean energy over traditional energy sources. This article aims as a general objective to demonstrate that digitalization, through new technologies in the energy field, has allowed the transition from classical energy to green, renewable and clean energy in Romania. The data obtained from the National Institute of Statistics will highlight important values in accordance with the desired research. Also, a bibliometric analysis will be performed using 795 articles collected from the WoS Core Collection. These will be interpreted with the VOSviewer application, achieving co-occurrences for the 2 keywords used: digitalization and green energy. The research methodology aims to analyze and review the specialized literature but also to analyze the statistical tools used. This analysis strengthens the validation of the hypothesis that digitalization plays an important role in increasing the level of green energy.
