Abstract:
Starting from the negative effects that domestic violence has on society as a whole and, especially, on its victims, the paper presents the evolution and analyzes the characteristics of domestic violence in Romania, as well as at regional level, in the period 2014-2024, by types of violence, ages, genders and areas of residence. The paper also highlights the disparities and similarities between counties and development regions from this point of view. The conclusion is that, in the majority of counties, an alarming increase in the intensity of this phenomenon is recorded.
