Romania Deserves Another Border Treaty with Ukraine

Abstract:
The problem of territorial modifications always proved to be an especially delicate one in international relations, being, not few times, the source of conflicts, as well as of a permanent tension and strain status. Romania, a country that is at the confluence of great power’s interest, was in the position to “accept†also territorial concessions with the purpose of defending the national unity by signing some bilateral treaties, treaties positioned at the limit of international regulations or which even breached international juridical norms. The treaties regarding Romania’s border with URSS have also been on this line. In this context, the present study proposes to realize analyze from the historical and juridical point of view of the modality in which it was realised the negotiation and realization of the Treaty between Romania and Ukraine regarding the regime of the Romanian – Ukrainian country border and mutual assistance in border matters.
