Abstract: The article consists of the excerpts from the book by N.A. Voznesenskiy “The military economy of the USSR during the Patriotic War†, under whose leadership during the Great Patriotic War military and economic plans were developed and the powerful industrial base, that played a huge role in supplying military equipment to the theatre of war, was created in the East of the country. Nikolai Alekseevich was personally responsible for providing the Red Army with weapons and ammunition; he was a member of the Committee for the restoration of the national economy in the areas liberated from Nazi invaders.
