Abstract: Human resources represent an important element of industrial competitiveness, concept that is, in its turn a determinant in carrying out sustainable development and human development. In this paper, quantitative and qualitative, as well as social, aspects of labour force evolution in manufacturing industry revealed by indicators of industrial activity competitiveness are analyzed by taking into account sustainable and human development principles and criteria within the frame of globalization phenomen.
