Abstract:
This paper presents a short revision of the main features describing the Romanian power sector evolution towards a compatible structure with the European Union one. In this respect, the article emphasize the progress made in the process of interconnection to UCTE, and in the field of energy efficiency. Also, some assessments have been made concerning the future opportunities in meeting energy demand, the necessary investment amount for modernization, labor circumstances and electricity prices perspectives in a competitive environment.
