Abstract:
In 1991, the concept of "sustainable industrial ecological development" was adopted, by the International Chamber of Commerce and UNIDO, at the second World Conference for Industry and Management of the Environment. In the case of the Romanian industrial sector, the restructuring represents a process of eliminating the structural rigidity, of adaptation to a changing economic environment and of improvement of the performance level. The goal is to provide a sustainable development that is ecological sustainable, through the use of competitive advantage that ensures the realization of the economical grow rate necessary to eliminate the disparities between our country and the European Union. At the same time, we have to take into consideration that the countries in the European Union are, at their turn, in a process of restructuring and adaptation to new technologies.
