Abstract: The main objectives of the research study are the analysis of different economic sectors reaction to various environmental tax levels and the evidentiation of favoured and defavoured sectors by specific environmental policies. In order to achieve these objectives, we have used a General Equilibrium Model which takes into consideration the totality of material and services flows within the national economy (with the help of the Social Accounting Matrix - an extended form of the Input Output Table). The model was runned using the Generalized Algebric Modeling System (GAMS), with the data available in Romania's National Accounts.
