Abstract:
The road transportation affects, more and more, in the last years, and, especialy, at urban levels, the environment and the human health. This is caused by the fast growth of the auto fleet and the trafic intensity. Unfortunately, the urban infrastructure doesn't help to solve this situation. It is obvious, from this point of view, that is necesary to change the traffic management in order to optimize the urban road transport on the basis of the pollution levels produced by it. This study aimss, in this context, at analyzing the actual situation of the road traffic im Bucharest and the damages to the environment, the data obtained being the inputs for an model of road traffic optimization. This model aims to reduce the pollution levels, at urban level, and to find practical solutions to implement such an plan.
