Abstract: In the period of time that remained until the integration of Romania into the European Union ,we intent to offer a cycle of papers on The Knowledge Economy.In this way,we wish to draw the attention on the fact that the New Economy, THE KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY, can promote the efforts and the achievements of some Romanian industrial companies in order to ansure their competitiveness. The study of these achivements can be a set of useful examples for practitioners and of reliable proves for academics and politicians about the relaunching potential of the Romanian economy. The paper is the first step in approaching Knowledge Economy as a path towards sustainable development, where efficiency and organizations competitivity joint together with social peace and human individual progress aiming gradualy towards long before chosen goal, "homo sapiens".
