Abstract:
At present, sustainable regional development represents an outstanding area og Romanian and international economic research activity, as well as a founding issue in working out social and economic analysis necessary for lauching national stratgy and development plans. The regional construction, launched by the European Union, has developed ots proper values range, supported by main principles as solidarity,concentration, programming, partnership, additionality, subsidiarity and sinergy. Regional modelling presents main features of sustainable development, by promoting economic, ecological and socio-cultural issues, as for example cost-benefit ana,ysis. In Romania, regional development is in an incipient phase, efforts being required regarding institutional development and administrative capacity of implemeting regional policies, mainly in infrastructure area, i.e.transportation, and environmental protection
