Abstract:
The Romanian economy passes through a difficult period marked first of all by a structural crisis which is manifested especially at the level of industrial structures. The economical obstacles are increased by the fact that the process of restructuring the Romanian industry took place and will continue to develop in less favorable conditions, marked by a relative destabilization of the production. This circumstances have generated an underproduction crisis followed by the intensification of the competition on the global market. All these led to the necessity of some structural changes required by the conjuncture and to some distortion effects reported to the ones obtained into a mature market economy. Considering the situation revealed in this work by the multi-criteria analysis of the romanian industry competitiveness, also based on the influence factors and the exigencies of the objectives of the EU competitiveness policy, we think that the major purpose of the industrial policy actions in Romania in the near future should be the enforcement of a coherent package of policies for the creation of and increase of the competitive advantages.
