Abstract: The sea transport history have it roots in the antiquity period. Shipping was very important for the human evolution, beeing the support for the new continents' development. Despite this, it's evolution was no fast at all. The importance of the sea transport grew only after 1950, because of two reasons: the first, was the construction of some special ships for the trasport of cereals, with huge transport capacities and the second motivation was the containers bussines development.
