Abstract:
This paper presents the findings of the first part of a research approaching the social representations of risk. We are interested in how these representations appear on three levels of the reality: the daily, media and political reality. We aim to find out which is the Romanian society's specific "portfolio of risks" at this moment. In this part of the research we investigate the sense and the way the concept of "risk" appears in day-to-day life. In other words, through this exploratory approach we try to define more accurately the social representations of risks on this level, or the particular ways the population perceives and represents the risks.
