Abstract: The present paper synthesise the efforts made by a consortium of three partners - S.C. ICPET ECO S.A.- Engineering, Research, Design for Environmental Equipment and Technologies, S.C. ITC - Institute for Computers and CEIS - the Centre for Industry and Services Economics, for the development of the project "Computation programme and data base for the energy sector's sustainable development indicators", part of the National R&D Programme MENER (Environment and Energy). The researchers team has selected a set of indicators for describing the sustainable development of the energy sector taking into account the international experience in the field and designed a computation programme for these indicators
