Abstract: The present scientific approach, as a component of the Excellence Research Program titled "PRODUCTIVITY, WAGES, EMPLOYMENT AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP FROM A EUROPEAN UNION PERSPECTIVE", developed within the National Research Program CERES, has the following main objectives: presenting different ways of labour productivity measurement at sectoral level; identifying the advantages and the disadvantages of assessing labour productivity at sectoral level on the basis of production and added value; presenting computational methods used in official statistics; analyzing labour productivity at industrial sector level of the Romanian economy.
