Abstract: In a rapidly changing world, as a result of globalization and a knowledge based economy, the ability of facing changes and constrains represents the key factor for success. It also becomes very important to encourage the entrepreneurial activity and to create a proper context for innovation and change, two fields which are very well connected. The economies should become more entrepreneurial and more innovative, a systemic approach being necessary in order to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation. An appropriate policy regarding the company will stimulate the company's culture for innovation and entrepreneurship; it will also stimulate the innovation at the society and economy level. With regards to our economy, entrepreneurial spirit and innovation represent real chances for increasing the competitiveness of the industrial company and for their ongoing economic development. This dissertation therefore is trying to approach the issues concerning the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation within the industrial companies of our country. The originality of this topic is represented by the effort to identify the factors that can slow down the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in our economy and in expressing the personal point of view about the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in industry, taking into consideration the trends in the developed countries. This dissertation also outlines the requirements of adopting the European Union policies on innovation and entrepreneurship.
