Abstract: Der Artikel beschäftigt sich hauptsächlich mit der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung in Polen, Tschechien und Ungarn. Fast zehn Jahre nach dem Ende der Planwirtschaft scheint für einige der mittel- und osteuropäischen Länder nunmehr die erste Phase der Transformation abgeschlossen zu sein. Besonders Polen, Tschechien und Ungarn müssen als EU-Beitrittskandidaten eine rasche Anpassung erreichen.Der Text diskutiert die bisherige und die notwendige weitere Entwicklung in den nächsten Jahren.
