Análisis comparativo de la eficiencia de las cooperativas fruteras de la provincia de Lleida

Abstract: This study describes some actions carried out in the Lleida fruit sector regarding the concentration of supply and the creation of second level co-operatives. Following this the study analyses the actions adopted by a second level co-operative in the province, the entity which has managed to gather the greatest number of co-operatives. Then a comparative analysis is carried out to determine the degree of technical and economic efficiency shown by the co-operatives associated to the second level entity versus co-operatives which have chosen not to associate. In the period analysed no great differences appear between the efficiency levels obtained by the two groups.
