Administración cooperativa, capital social y valor de la producción en la agricultura: un ensayo analítico

Abstract: This essay presents a theoretic discussion regarding the importance of human and social capital, and the methods of managing contractual relations. As a specific case it analyses agricultural co-operatives, and the generation of value from agricultural production. It presents a multivariate analysis and a logarithmic, linear progression weighted with variables of production value by productive unit, production value by hectare and proportion of rural producers affiliated to co-operatives, education levels, participation in organisations, unions and association, among others. The results show that a higher level of education, is connected with greater higher production value by area, and the greater proportion of co-operative producers is correlated with greater production value by unit of production. The results are compared, then finally some conclusions are drawn concerning the importance of human and social capital and the management relations for the development of agricultural activity, proposing a new agenda for research and analysis.
