Abstract:
Cooperative employment has long been condemned to the fringes of employment legislation. In Spain, although protection was afforded it for some time, particularly from 1999 onwards, a certain amount of discrimination, from a legal viewpoint at least, can now be discerned. This is at odds with the demand made by the ILO in Recommendation 193 regarding the need to apply all employment legislation to the members of cooperatives. This requires a reappraisal of the reforms that would need to be made and the means of implementing them in the State of Autonomies.
