Abstract: Due to the complexity of activities which can generate cargo surveys in respect of transport, maritime ships can be in such situations that will not allow carrying out activities onboard under normal conditions, leading to damages to the ships or carried cargo, thus entailing litigations between participants in such transport. Damages approach have had a spectacular evolution, so that the currently requested survey reports for the construction and settlement of such litigations became far-reaching and specialized. This paper will point out elements of damages going under concepts of general and particular averages
