Abstract: In the overall context of sustainable development, shipping is a very powerful and positive force, making a major contribution to global trade and prosperity in a way that has only a relatively small negative impact on the global environment. Prevention, reduction and control of marine pollution caused or is linked to the activities of the internal waters, the territorial sea, the exclusive economic zone and the atmosphere above shall be carried out in accordance with the Romanian legislation and Conventions to which Romania is a party
