Abstract:
Within the last two decades, the world has seen many financial crises which have spread around the globe and affected both developing and developed countries. Although each had its own particularities, there are some similar patters that stand out, most being related to an over evaluated asset in a country or region and a sharp withdrawal of funds that led to the burst of the crisis. Looking into each of them, there are some common causes and addressing these may help prevent any future financial shocks.
