Abstract: Quality of life is currently a major topic of interest among researchers in many countries. The aim of this article was to assess the country's existing situation in order to outline a complete picture of the quality of life, in the desire to align with the standards set in the European Union and common practices in the field of quality of life in urban areas. Thus, the author conducted a research on the quality of life in the urban environment and described a complete picture of how the Romanian population relates to the various components of quality of life. Also, there are presented the strategic objectives for improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Bucharest for the period 2020-2024.
