Democracia y desarrollo económico en América Latina

Abstract: Resumen Los conceptos de democracia y desarrollo económico han presentado a lo largo del tiempo grandes modificaciones que han complejizado su estudio y su medición. Pese a ello, varias investigaciones han establecido la existencia de relaciones causales entre democracia y desarrollo económico. Este trabajo realiza un análisis comparativo entre la evolución de estas dos variables en algunos países de América Latina, a partir de la idea de que mejores índices de democracia son el resultado del progreso en el nivel de desarrollo de los países, como consecuencia de que las decisiones políticas, sociales y económicas que han sido promovidas, han contribuido a satisfacer las demandas sociales existentes.**** Abstract The concepts of democracy and economic development have been presented over time major changes that have more complex study and measurement, even so, several studies have shown the existence of casual relationships between democracy and economic development. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the evolution of these variables in Latin America countries based on the idea that democracy best rates are the result of progress in the level of development countries as a result of political decisions, social and economic conditions that have been promoted they have helped to know the demands of the actual society.
